This week:

We read math books about strategies and made a list of all the math strategies we use.
-counting from smaller number and stopping at the big number
   ex. 10+__=13
  ex.  7-3= __
-count on from the bigger number to add
-adding tens and ones together
-subtracting tens and ones
-using tally marks to add and subtract

We also got into our math groups and solved difficult math problems to see who had the best strategy.

In writing, we read a story that had an exciting character and we wrote a story that made our character exciting.

Next week:

We will be learning about the first Thanksgiving and we will be practicing some Thanksgiving plays! In math we will learn about counting by 2's and creating a colony like the pilgrims did.
