This week:

We had fun discovering extinct animals. We are finding animals from different continents that are not extinct. They get a new fossil each day and analyze and compare the fossils to figure out the extinct animal. They also have been adding using tens and ones. Some math groups are regrouping (or borrowing from when I was in school) up the hundreds. If practicing this skill at home, they need to remember they are stealing a ten or adding a ten not just putting a one on the top of the other numbers.

Next Week:

We have been reading lots of stories of extinct animals. We will continue to read them but next week we will answer who what where and when questions about each story.

We will continue to learn about tens and ones, but we will subtracting next week.
